Oats and Broken Wheat/dalia dosa

For healthy souls like me (atleast i would like to believe;-) this recipe is a good idea for a wholesome meal at any time of the day. So if you try it, don't forget to share your feedback.

Ingredients:

4 table spoon oats
4 table spoon broken wheat
2 table spoon atta flour (if you want to cheat a lil...add maida)
1 onion chopped
1 tomato chopped
1 tbsp fresh coriander chopped
2 green chillies chopped
5-6 garlic flakes chopped
1/4" ginger chopped

yoghurt - 2 tablespoon
baking soda - one pinch
oil to fry

Method:

Dry roast the oats and broken wheat till its fragrant (3-4 mins)

Now cool the mix and grind it fine in a blender.
Add all the ingredients except baking soda and oil and mix it well
Let it ferment for 20 mins and add baking soda. Again mix well for 1-2 mins for the soda to blend well
Now heat a non stick tawa, put a few drops of oil. Pour two ladle full of mix on it and spread it gently
Now add oil to the sides and let it cook for 10 mins (yes it takes long to cook) turning sides. Turn only when one side is done else it breaks. Your Healthy treat is ready. Savour it with chutney/sauce of your choice
Tips: You can more vegetables like finely shredded carrot, corn, capsicum etc....

Leftover Dal Recipe - Dal Paratha

Last night ended up with more than needed daal and didn't want to eat the same thing again......so this morning thought of bundling up a few ingredients together with dal and came up with DAL PARATHA. It is healthy and delicious....try it!!!!

Ingredients:

Leftover Dal (Any dal :-)
Atta - as needed to make a firm dough
Salt as per taste
Oil to fry the parathas
Coarse Grind the following ( 2-3 seconds on a mixer!! not more than that else it will turn into a paste)
Onion -1
Ginger - 1/2"
Garlic - 10-12 (you can use less if you don't like the smell...i love it so I end up putting even more:-)
Green Chillies - 3-4

Method:

In the left over daal, mix all the other ingredients and make a dough firm enough to be rolled ( don't add too much atta as it will loose its taste). Now divide the dough into big balls, not the regular roti one, much bigger - probably like an orange. Now heat a tawa. Roll the balls into round parathas using a rolling pin and put it on the tawa. Fry using oil till black spots appear on both sides (Fry them using a flat spatula and keep  pressing it against the parathas for them to be fried well)  .

Serve hot parathas with curd.
